TALES Calgary is excited to host world-renowned storyteller Kristin Pedemonti, who will lead a workshop that explores how we become the stories (and experiences) we consume, share and tell.
Workshop at 7 pm; open mic at 8:30 pm.
Take a moment and ask yourself:
What stories are you consuming, sharing and telling?
What narrative are you telling about your life, experiences and encounters?
Are they serving you and others?
Are they building bridges or walls?
Unifying or dividing?
Empowering or deflating?
The good news is, you are the author of your own story and can choose at any time to re-frame, re-tell and cast yourself in a different role. You can also choose which stories you consume, share and tell.
In this hands-on, highly participatory workshop, Kristin Pedemonti will urge you to:
1. Become aware of the stories you consume, share and tell.
2. Understand the impact & and importance these stories have in the work or way you live.
3. Learn the basics of how to re-frame, re-tell and become the author of your own story.
4. Take away tips you can put into action right away to tell a more effective story that better serves you and others!
The perfect workshop for: activists, artists, community builders, educators, entrepreneurs, innovators, peace builders and those seeking to mend the divide or at least better survive these challenging times!
Cost: Pay what you will (Sugg. $20)
