It was only a matter of time until public transport took to the stars!
The year is 2047 and you're invited to the grand opening of the world’s first municipal space station!
Calgary’s public transit system now features direct service to space – and you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to know that one space station is useless unless there’s a network of other space stations to reach…
Participate in an interplanetary artwork, and party like it’s 2047!
Ground training and launch included.
Open to all ages but recommended for ages 10 and up!
— * This is a one-hour, technological and immersive experience involving virtual reality and hands-on exploration.
* Launch times depart in 15 minute intervals, and can hold a maximum of eight people at a time.
Created by Humble Wonder, in partnership with Quickdraw Animation Society, the Calgary Municipal Space Station is Beakerhead's 2017 Big Bang accelerator program recipient.
Lead artists on this project are: Tyler Longmire, Joshua Dalledonne, Lee Cookson, Andrew Shaw, Lara Schmitz and Anton de Groot.

— Calgary Municipal Space Station is one of 14 sites across Beakerhead Snakes and Ladders; a larger-than-life adventure across multiple engineered experiences and artworks connected by a common theme: the ups and downs of invention. Each site will have a sign and board game tile — where you'll get to choose your own navigational adventure!
A huge thanks to Calgary Arts Development and Calgary Hotel Association for their contributions to the “Remarkable Experience Accelerator” that supports the Calgary Municipal Space Station!
