Mindfulness meditation can help you to relax body and mind, improve concentration and attention, and develop insight into how you relate to yourself and others in your life.
In this series, you will learn the basics of mindfulness meditation and get started on a home practice. You’ll learn what mindfulness is and how to integrate it in daily life to gradually bring more awareness and less stress in everything you do.
In each class there will be guided and non-guided meditation, opportunity for discussion and questions, and weekly talks on meditation and mindfulness topics. Each week there is simple, practical homework to support practice and understanding.
The text for this class is Meditation for Beginners, by Jack Kornfield. Copies will be available for purchase at YogaMCC.
