Doctor Jeep
Doctor Jeep is a 28-year old Brooklyn resident known to most as Andre Lira. While attending college in Boston he quickly gained notoriety as one of the city’s most eclectic young selectors, mixing everything from drum & bass, dubstep, and uk garage to techno, electro, and classic house. With DJ sets mixing the past, present, and future of dance music in some of America’s best clubs, and festival appearances at Outlook, Bass Coast, Bonnaroo, and EDC, he has proven to adapt to any vibe and make it his own style of party.
Production-wise, Jeep’s music has been described as “a style somewhere between the forward-thinking bass mutations of Cosmic Bridge, the grinding 808 electro of Swamp81, and the breakbeat-heavy sound of early 90′s UK rave music.” With releases on a wide range of international labels such as NYC's Trouble & Bass (R.I.P.), Vancouver’s Aufect Records, and Nottingham's Tumble Audio, and support from tastemaking DJs such as Claude VonStroke, Shy FX, Hannah Wants, J:Kenzo, Machinedrum, and My Nu Leng to name a few, the future looks bright for this multifaceted producer.
Max Ulis
Max is half of Sabota, and a charter member of Lighta! Sound, which has been instrumental in the building of Vancouver’s underground movement for the better part of a decade. He has performed at prestigious festivals such as Decibel, Mutek, and New Forms, is a regular on the west coast festival circuit. His music has been played by notable performers such as Tim Green, Skream, B Traits, Shadow Child, Grenier, &ME, and Breakage and he’s shared the stage with a who’s who of contemporary dance music.
Carissa Gem
Hailing from BC's sunny interior, this shining gem of the Okanagan has been bringing the beats to the people since before she was old enough to drive. As the boss lady behind the wheel of Geminate Productions, she's taken many a raver on many a musical journey throughout the years. Those who have attended Bushwacked Music Festival or any of her other carefully curated events will remember her for epic sunrise sets that never fail to serve up that organic bassy goodness with her signature gangster touch.
These days you can find her just east of the Rockies, sharing decks and throwing parties with noted Calgary bass crew Sub Chakra. She's holding down a residency and curating nights with New Wave at The Hifi Club and is also a co-host of The Mix Up every Friday night on CJSW 90.9FM. When she's not behind the decks, she spends her time swapping party planning tips and lending a hand to some of the best curators of Western Canada's deep soundscape culture.
