June 6th / 13th / 20th
6:30 — 9:30 (all 3 evenings)
Developed at Zea Mays Printmaking in Florence, Massachusetts, this acrylic-based spray aquatint is an easy, greener alternative to providing tone to etching images. In this class, participants will explore using tone along with two other non-toxic etching products/methods, BIG and Coffee Lift. Some etching experience may be beneficial to understanding course content.
*BIG (Baldwin Intaglio Ground) was developed by Andrew Baldwin in the UK, as a greener alternative to traditional asphaltum etching grounds.
