Long Jon Lev
— Featuring the thoughtful, poignant lyrics and memorable, hummable melodies of Canadian songsmith Jonathan Ferguson, Long Jon Lev’s Telltale Heart is an album by a band giving in wholeheartedly to their ecleticism and love of surprises. The ever-changing rootsy-pop outfit moves wilfully from driving (Atlas Let Go) to sweet (Girl I Know) to a rollicking, floor-stomping moment of self-reflection (Charity Quilt), all without giving the slightest hint of where they’re going next. Then they do it again.
It’s clear that Long Jon Lev lives to do just one thing: Play smart, catchy music that charms its way into your heart, turns on your brain, and tugs at your soul.
music is an intoxicating blend of alt-rock with notes of jazzy chords and funk rhythms, garnished with Beatle-esque harmonies. With the swagger of punk rock and the melodic sense of 50’s/60’s era songwriting, Vagrant Souls music somehow manages to sound both nostalgic and modern.
Originating as a duo formed by childhood friends Brandon Luc and Jordan Clermont the two made themselves known in the Calgary music scene before deciding to fill out their sound with the talents of drummer Lane Schmidt and bassist Jake Anderson.
With their lineup solidified Vagrant Souls have established themselves as one of Calgary’s most invigorating and exciting live bands.
is folksy charm and raw passion, delivered with an outstanding live presence. Hailing from Vancouver BC, this indie-rock singer-songwriter performed in every province and territory to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Canada in 2017. His music combines heartland rock with grunge while maintaining a pop sensibility. His dynamic sound is matched nicely with warm melodies and Dylanesque storytelling. He is a troubadour of sound, stage and beard. He will be touring Canada from April to August of 2018.
