Join us to welcome the UK band Sandtimer for their Canadian tour!
Sandtimer is a British indie-folk band formed by Hampshire-based musicians Robert Sword and Simon Thomas. Featuring close vocal harmonies and intricate, Appalachian-infused guitar textures, Sandtimer aim to combine innovative, left-field ideas with classic songcraft to create something at once edgy and familiar.
After touring around the UK, Canada and Germany and releasing two EPs, Different Seas and Mackerel- both featured by a variety of stations and blogs including BBC Radio 6, BBC Introducing, Alex Rainbird and TMRW Magazine- the band will release their first full-length album in late 2018.
" Influenced by the kindred spirits of Nick Drake, Beck and Joni Mitchell, tempered with an amalgamation of traditional folk and contemporary indie. Their ringing songs and musical mastery beckon towards a promising future, a solid fan base and more festival appearances than one could shake a stick at. One to watch, one to listen to, one with a long career in the making. "
James Hill, TMRW Magazine
" Inspired by the sparse textures of early Appalachian folk, and having drawn comparisons to the likes of the Milk Carton Kids, the duo’s blend of acoustic rock and lyrical folk is well worth checking out. "
